Here are a few tips on a great party for kids.
1.Send out your invitations to the birthday about 1 month in advance where possible.
Facebook events page is a breeze to use and a lifesaver.Just go on and send the invites and wait for the RSVPs to get a good gauge of number of guests.Do already have a venue in mind and a birthday theme.
2.Order your cake as early as possible.
Many bakers are swamped these days. For me I use a facebook friend's baking services. Here is the link to her facebook:

She bakes the cutest cakes in all designs!!!And best of all they are super yummy!!I am in love with the chocolate flavoured one!
I am a sucker for simple cream cakes.Fondant cakes tend to be a tad too sweet and a little dry to eat.
Another reason for my choice of simple shaped cakes, they are easier to serve. No mountains and valleys for my good old knife to maneuver .Leave the cake grandeur to their wedding day!
3.Catering
Caterers are life savers.Personally I tend to order from 2 different caterers to avoid any unfortunate food mishaps.Finger foods are always a winner but do bear in mind, if its a kids party do have some kids appropriate food. You cannot go wrong with spaghetti.
Here is the link to my recent order for finger food.I had ordered the eclairs, fruit tarts and sandwiches. All a great hit with everyone!Great prices and impeccable service.Food came perfectly packaged for fridge storage so you may set it up just before the party gets rolling! They do have some other selection so do give it a view.

For the main course of fried rice, fried noodles I used another facebook friend's mum catering services. The fried rice particularly was polished off with gusto!

4)Party Decorations
Balloons are a must have for any kids party!Greats the right ambience for a birthday party at low cost. Kids are especially delighted when they get to take one home.I used the services of
http://www.wowletsparty.com/ and was pleasantly surprised at the prompt and personalized service.I did also find that their balloon packages are slightly cheaper than the others and with free delivery I am all won over!!I got the package A at $80 which came with a gigantic bunch of Dora themed balloons and 40 other plain helium balloons.Definitely value for money!
Do also get birthday banners for decorating the rest of the place.
I like the store at bugis(across bugis junction , right after KFC!).They sell right about anything party related!
5)Party Games
Every kid party should have games.Find a willing game host. The easiest game to play would be pin the hat/tail/whatever on which ever cartoon character.I did my own.Cut off an image of Dora and made little cardboard hats and aptly named the name Pin the Hat on Dora.Blindfolded kids get a great laugh trying to stick the hat in the right place!Do give out little tokens as gifts to add to the fun!Another great must have would be a pinata.
I got mine from the above mentioned bugis store at a steal at $19.90.The baton was at $3.90.Cheapest so far!Do remember to fill it up with little trinkets and goodies.Mine had stickers, little crunch chocs, marshmallows and sweets.Do get brand name goodies where possible. Not many parents allow kids to eat unheard of tidbits so that is just going to be wasted.
6) Party bags
What is a party with out a goody bag?I got mine from
http://www.facebook.com/sim.eunice
A very nice lady with great choices available!Do pay an additional $6 for courier right to your doorstep.Shopping for goody bags has never been so easy. This is what I got.A kid can never have too many stickers or stationery! These were a great hit!!
Hope all the information provided will help towards the planning of your next birthday party.I am a big lover of such parties! Can never get enough!!
